Premier judge Hellen Taylor traveled from Dungeness to Judge the first Print Competition of the season. Members submitted almost sixty mounted prints for her to critique.
The set subject was ‘Shadows’ and members were very apprehensive when Helen revealed that for the last two years she has been working towards gaining a Fellowship panel with the Royal Photographic Society on that very subject!!
She soon put members at ease with her constructive comments and advice on paper quality and mount colour choices. John Howard was the winner with his image ‘Time for a Break’.
Sandy Littlejohn, Jo Court and Pete Smith all received Highly Commended certificates for ‘Caught in the Act’ ‘Paraglider and Shadow’ and ‘Double Vision’ respectively.
After the break Helen judged the Open section where members could submit any image subject. Jo Court won with her monochrome image of ‘Bubbles’. Highly Commended certificates were awarded to Lyn Gregory, Dave Cornelius and Philip Wells for their images ‘En Pointe’ ‘Looking Up, Looking Down’ and The Vanishing High Street Shoppers’ respectively.
