Canterbury Photographic Society

Members held their AGM at the last meeting of the season.

All vacant committee positions were filled;

Wendy Kennett was voted in as Chairperson, Sharon Higenbottam as Secretary, Sandra Littlejohn as Print Secretary, Sarah Vinall as General Committee member and Lyn Gregory as Programme Secretary.

There was time for members and committee to discuss the summer shoot programme and explore new directions for the club, and agree some themes for practical sessions on Member's evenings to include; a model & lighting workshop, still-life photography, Photoshop & Lightroom tutorials and Painting with Light.

After the break Di Long, an accredited Judge and club member, kindly agreed to judge the Hunt Cup Panel Competition.

She gave an excellent critique of each image in its own right and then offered suggestions on how the presentation, editing and arrangement of the images might help to achieve a stronger more cohesive panel.

Sandy Littlejohn was the overall winner with her subtle pastel toned panel of a Welsh Lake. Di also praised the mounting and choice of paper that complemented the subject.

If you are considering becoming a member of the club next season you’d be most welcome to join in the Summer Shoot Programme. Details will be uploaded onto the website regularly. Unless otherwise stated, most dates will be available to all.
